"14th Five-Year Plan" will be planned to build seven UHV DC lines

On March 1, the State Grid Corporation issued the company's "carbon peak, carbon neutral action Plan", which proposed that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the new cross-regional transmission channel of the State grid will be mainly to transport clean energy, and will be planned to build 7 UHVDC, and the new transmission capacity will be 56 million kW.

At the same time, the plan also clarified that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the new cross-regional transmission channel of the National grid will be mainly to transport clean energy, and will be planned to build 7 UHVDC, and the new transmission capacity will be 56 million kW. By 2025, the cross-provincial and cross-regional transmission capacity of the national grid operation area will reach 300 million kW, and the proportion of clean energy transmission will reach 50%. At the delivery end, we will improve the main network structure in the northwest and northeast, accelerate the construction of the Sichuan-Chongqing UHV AC main network, and support the safe and efficient operation of cross-region DC. At the receiving end, expand and improve the UHV AC main network in North and East China, accelerate the construction of the UHV backbone network in Central China, build a platform for optimizing the allocation of water, fire and scenery resources, and improve the acceptance capacity of clean energy.
