Navigant Research, a US market research institute, recently released a report that by 2026, the global microgrid energy storage capacity will reach 14,850.7 MW, generating revenue of nearly 22.3 billion US dollars.
With the increase in solar PV and wind deployment, the demand for microgrid energy storage is also growing, mainly due to its efficient integration of renewable energy properties, and energy storage systems (ESS) have become an increasingly valuable component of distributed energy networks.
From a regional perspective, Asia Pacific and North America will be the two largest microgrid energy storage markets in the world. From a corporate perspective, Japan's NEC Energy Solutions, NRG Energy, Saft, Samsung SDI and Uni Energy Technologies will become the world's leading suppliers of microgrid energy storage technology.
